Frequently Asked Questions
Coaching is time that’s focused entirely on you: what you want, what’s getting in the way and how to move forward in a way that works for you. Many of my clients already know what they should do. They’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts or tried the apps. Knowing isn’t always the problem. Doing is.Think about getting fit. Some people can change their diet or join a gym and make progress on their own. Others do better with a personal trainer, accountability and someone in their corner. We all need support at different times. Coaching gives you a thinking partner and ally, who helps you get clear on what you really want and turn it into progress.
It’s absolutely OK if you don’t know before you contact me.Sometimes the challenge is practical: a home that feels overwhelming, decisions that have piled up, or simply needing someone alongside you to help you get started.Sometimes there’s more going on too. Overwhelm, confidence, a life transition, ADHD or hormonal changes can all affect how easy it feels to get started or make decisions.Because I’m both a professional coach and an experienced organiser, we can work out together what would help most. Sometimes that’s life coaching, sometimes practical support or home organising, and sometimes a combination. If what you need isn’t listed on my website, please ask. If I think I can genuinely help, we can work out the best approach together, and if I’m not the right person, I’ll tell you.
It’s a relaxed, confidential 45-minute conversation about what’s going on, what you’d like to change and how I might be able to help. There’s no pressure and no obligation. If we decide to work together, we’ll agree where to start.
Most of my work is online, so we can work together wherever you are in the UK. For home organising, we work together on video while you do the sorting and I provide the structure, decision-making support and accountability. I also offer selected in-person sessions locally in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.Life coaching and practical support are £65 per hour. Home organising is £60 per hour, virtual or in person. If you’d like to work on your home over a longer period, there’s a 16-hour virtual home organising block for £880 (four 4-hour sessions at £55 per hour), which you pay for as you go. Your first conversation is free.
Body doubling means working alongside another person, in person or online, while you get on with something you’ve been putting off, such as a task, paperwork, a routine or a room. Their presence provides gentle structure and accountability, which can make it easier to start, stay focused and keep going. It’s widely used by people with ADHD and executive function challenges. A 2024 survey of 220 people by researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz found that body doubling helped them start, keep going with and complete tasks, by offering companionship, easing overwhelm and adding a little gentle accountability. Further research is still emerging. In my practical support sessions I do much more than sit alongside you. We agree what you’re aiming to do, I help you stay on track, and we work out what to do when you get stuck.
I work with you, not instead of you. The aim is to find systems and routines that suit you and your life, so they keep working after our sessions end. If what you need is a house clearance, a move or someone to organise while you’re out, I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person to help.
You never need to tidy things up for me. Seeing or hearing things as they really are helps me understand how best to help.I know how personal it can feel to let someone into your home or talk honestly about something you’re struggling with. I’ve worked with people in many different circumstances and my approach is always friendly, respectful and non-judgemental.I’m here to help. We start with where you are now and what would make life feel easier.
